Happy Tony Abbott Irrelevancy Day!!!

I know it’s been a while been sprays, but it’s been difficult to find anything worth writing about. It’s all been very Groundhog Day:

1. Tony Abbott brain farts/slags off the Government
2. Media goes mental and runs it wall to wall without scrutiny
3. Media gets confirmation by interviewing Opposition and further validation by interviewing other journos.
4. When proven to be factually incorrect, correction printed in two lines hidden in middle of story.

Couple this with Tony’s incessant pointless censure motions in Question Time with the sole aim of getting his head on TV and you can see how depressing the state of our parliament really is.
For someone who touts himself as an alternative PM he is showing a distinct lack of gravitas and just highlighting that he will do absolutely anything to achieve power.
Then there is his record in Opposition. For someone who is incessantly shouting NO all the time, he hasn’t had much success blocking legislation. In fact this minority government has succeededmin passing over 150 pieces of legislation and Tony has managed to block precisely…zero. Awesome work there Tony.
And now he’s promised 11 billion in tax cuts, but when questioned on where the money will come from, he’s come back with “we don’t have access to Treasury psi we can’t give you exact figures”. I steps Julia and offers them the services of Treasury to cost their promises properly. Does Tony man up and put his his money where his mouth is? Hell no!
He runs away like the little girl that he is, yelling “but public servants are all Labor stooges so they’ll dodgy it up”. All we can say to that is *cough* Godwin Grech *cough*

Now today is the turning point. The new senate takes its place and the LNP no longer has the balance of power. With the help of the Greens, Labor will be able to push their agenda through much more smoothly and Tony can just sit on the sidelines throwing his tantrums…not that he doesn’t actually do any different these days.

Spray welcome back, an old add from the UK re breadmaking “Nice one Cyril” echoed everywhere even to a soccer player called Cyril but in this case “Nice one spray” rather long winded but apt.
Well Abbort does not trust economists, climate scientists, treasury, public servants in general, a labor govn, the greens. Raises the point who does he trust, which then flows on to WHO trusts him??. I have more respect for a used car salesman or a lawyer and boy is that scraping the barrel.

“4. When proven to be factually incorrect,”

When read this I thought of ALP supporters. The most factually incorrect people.

Like when you stated that Costello only had a surplus budget because of the sale of Telstra. Costello did not put the revenue he got from Telstra in the budget

“In fact this minority government has succeededmin passing over 150 pieces of legislation and Tony has managed to block precisely…zero.”

But i thought you said all Abbott did was oppose. perhaps he agreed to pass most of this and you are telling lies that he opposes everything.

But i thought you said all Abbott did was oppose. perhaps he agreed to pass most of this and you are telling lies that he opposes everything.

It just shows how useless he really is Neil. He has not agreed to support any legislation so far, saying no to everything, but is completely incapable of negotiating with the independents and so cannot get anytinhg blocked. It is that simple Neil…there is no way to spin it as anytihng but sheer incompetence.

Abbott is a master of stunts and nothing else…he has the substance of Glad Wrap. The “plebisicte” is a perfect case in point…he kicked up a big stink about “the will of the people” but when pressured said that he wouldn’t follow the results if it was contrary to his position. Massive hypocrite.

How do you know??? He may have supported everything and tried to block nothing.

Is there any way to find out???

    • July 6, 2011 at 9:12 AM

So you mean he isn’t incompetent, just a massive hypocrite who will say anything in public to get power?

      Yeah that’s much better….

“Is there any way to find out???”

Neil, if only we had a record of what went on in Parliament. Oh wait.

Perhaps the Senate plebiscite run was just a full dress rehearsal. He’s got his lines right now, he “will abide by the result” and wants another go.

You can’t trust those lefty commo Hansard recorders….

Well i have spent most of my time on leftoid blogs and I tend to think you lot make stuff up.

Yes I could go and check Hansard. However you sound like you know the answer since you state that Abbott has tried to block everything.

Based on my experience on leftoid blogs I suspect you made that up ( but I could be wrong).

That’s the core of your problem right there Neil.
Instead of checking facts and verifying information, you rely on past experience and your “opinion”.

It’s insanely easy to verify some of this stuff…5 minutes work with Google will get you the information. Instead you would rather keep your head in the sand and continue with your preconceptions no matter how invalid they are.

It’s the sign of an extremely closed mind.

    and I’m thinking, why?

    “and I’m thinking, why?”

Well my first post was on Tim Dunlops blog. I must admit I did not agree with much stuff on his blog.

I found Bolt in December and was happy. But why post on Bolt when I would just be part of the chorus??

But I do not think 5 minutes of searching on google would tell me what is in Hansard. I would suspect that Abbott supported most of the legislation.

Ode To Andrew: By Neil (re mix)

I grew weary of Dunlop’s blog; it was crappy,
I found Bolt in December and was happy.
Not part of the chorus, I worshiped my Horus,
    An erudite logical chappie.

There ya go Neil, pin that on the fridge!

Well here is some legislation that Abbott supported. i would like to see some evidence that Abbott opposed what you say he opposed.

    http://www.crikey.com.au/2011/07/05/asio-gets-its-new-powers-and-no-one-will-tell-us-why/

“Well, we never found out why, and now we’ll never know. Last night, the bill to significantly expand ASIO’s powers to spy on Australians sailed through the Senate with the support of Labor and the Coalition.

Just when we needed a bit of that mindless negativity for which the Abbott-era Coalition has become famous, they fell into line with Labor. The Greens, in the form of Scott Ludlam, were the only ones asking questions.”

  12. July 7, 2011 at 10:09 AM

But I do not think 5 minutes of searching on google would tell me what is in Hansard. I would suspect that Abbott supported most of the legislation.

Why continue to suspect Neil? Why not dispel all doubt and found out the actual truth?

Congratulations on finding 1 peice of legislation he supported…that wasn’t hard was it?
Now what happened with some of the other 150 pieces?

“Now what happened with some of the other 150 pieces?”

Don’t know. You are the one who made the accusation that Abbott tried to block everything but failed.

Do you have any evidence that he tried to block everything or did you make that up???
